Children adore drawing, sketching and painting. Playing with colors, drawing and sketching different things, making imitations from the real life are not just the fun filled activates but has great developmental and educational outcomes. It is a fact that the drawing and sketching trainings involve the use of a variety of materials/media but the object for these trainings for the children is to focus to create an opportunity to develop basic knowledge and skills essential to the artist hidden within the child.
CLC encourages children when they are engaged in such self expression based activities and especially when they are exploring different drawing, sketching and painting techniques using light and color. Children find effective ways of self expression in the form of drawing and sketching.
Objectives
- Help children learn to draw objects from their daily life through direct observation using the learned skills for Sighting/diagramming, perspective, proportion, and scale.
- Guide children and help them learn the use of basic elements of geometry like line, shape, circle etc
- Facilitate development of their critical, logical and creative thinking through right selection of the media, surfaces, tools and evaluation of the ideas envisioned
- Help children learn and understand the details of the terminology used in art.
- Refine critical analysis skills of children so that they can critique their drawings and the drawings of others.
